How you learn

Live projects

The course includes practical, client-focused projects where you’ll visit existing buildings and sites, and complete technical and professional tasks. These are opportunities for you to apply creative solutions that draw on your developing knowledge.

Field trips

During your international applied project, you’ll work with other students of the built environment programme. This will increase your understanding of other roles within the profession, helping you practise the day-to-day interactions of a chartered surveyor. Here you’ll also develop the essential skills and knowledge of a professional practitioner.

All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive.

You’ll study areas including economics & the built environment, property law & professional context, valuation, evaluating building condition, advanced valuation & development and corporate real estate asset management. You’ll also complete a dissertation – an in-depth research project requiring a critical and evaluative approach to professional practice and theory, supported by an allocated dissertation supervisor.
