Businesses need effective managers to ensure success in a competitive and challenging global business environment. Whether you work in a global organisation, a small or medium-sized business enterprise (SME), public sector or a not-for-profit organisation, this Business Management (1 year top-up) course helps you to become a successful business manager of the future. 
How you learn

This course offers separate pathways to allow for different interests, languages and availability. The September start date focusses more on international aspects of business, with modules including an international business consultancy project, and marketing in a global context.

The January start allows for those whose first language isn't necessarily English. It offers managerial and professional modules, as well as the opportunity to hone your English skills for business.

Your modules are taught by seasoned academics and business practitioners, and are geared toward the real-world application of theory and academic skills.

Entry requirements

Applicants normally need one of the following

• a foundation degree, HND or equivalent qualification in business and/or management, with an overall merit profile from year two modules

• 120 year one and 120 year two credits, with an overall mark of 55 per cent or above, from a relevant business degree or equivalent

We welcome applications from people of any age. There may be some flexibility in entry requirements provided you have other relevant learning or experience. This must show that you will benefit from and successfully finish the course.

If English is not your first language you need an IELTS score of 6.0 or above, with a minimum score of 5.5 in each skill. If your English language skill is currently below IELTS 6.0 we recommend you consider a Sheffield Hallam University Pre-sessional English course which will enable you to achieve an equivalent English score.

Please note the University will only admit students who are aged 18 or over at the point of enrolment.
